Dracula Bookmarks

Targoviste - between myth and reality

Synopsis

Centuries ago, Vlad Tepes, a Romanian prince, became well known in Europe because of his bloody habit, impaling. For this reason, people called him Vlad the Impaler. One of the favourite cities to express this bloody wish, was Targoviste. That’s why, Vlad the Impaler has been associated with Dracula, and Targoviste as one of Dracula’s house.
How does it look Targoviste nowadays?

A very quiet town, the only army that makes noise is for the celebration of the town.

"Demeter" is the name of the ship with which Dracula travelled from Romania to England, in a most thrilling story within a story!

The eternal questions! Only yesterday, during our bookclub meeting, the Elton asked about afterlife, the day before that Muslum asked me about faith. A perfect timing to talk!

Please show us how to use it in our Wednesday chat

question due to my opinion is wrong.there is no soul, only our self exist.by the way most people think (ancient greek phiosophers too) it's not immortal.but there are many ways for someone to be immortal.when u achieve great things in your life you become immportal through your actions(e.g great alexander),when you help the society and you are beloved to anyone then you will be immortal(peisistratos, tyran of athens that was beloved from every democratic citizen of greece, kolokotronis that helped in the fight against turks in 1821).also through our books our ''soul'' can get immortality, dont have to say that ots of people know lots of famous writers that still help them through their books. periklis, eleusina

I think that the soul is immortal. The afterlife is the proposed continued existence of the soul, spirit or mind of a being after physical death. Also, there are many people who believe that after you die, your soul is still alive.

I think that human soul is both mortal and immortal. It is mortal because is a part of the human body and dies at once with the body. It is also immortal because someone's soul influences some other people's souls and those togheter keep alive the soul of the person who influenced them. Souls can't be apart from what they love. Maybe from here started the ghosts stories...souls that can't suffer the separation of what they care about. oana, targoviste

I have heard people say that human soul is immortal and other people say the opposite. But in my opinion I think human soul is immortal. Our body dies but our soul stay alive and lives somewhere in another “planet”. ELTON
